We've listed a few ideas for you to use in your own business, hopefully to get your creative brain working. And if you decide to get a list from us or use one of our services to help you implement your campaign, we'll that's a bonus for us...we'd love to discuss further with you!

Mail & Telemarketing Promotion
Many people, especially consumers, loathe receiving cold phone calls, and it's against the law to cold call residents and government departments on the Do Not Call Register.

Make it warmer for your telemarketing team by firstly mailing your prospects a brochure or your sales material, then follow up with a telephone call (to those people not on the DNCR).

This gives your salespeople a good 'reason' to call. Even if the person cannot remember your brochure, you may still be able to ask for an appointment or at the very least to add them to your database for follow up later....maybe ask for their email address so you can build your own opt-in email database!

For cold calling businesses, telemarketing B2B is a little easier as it's generally not illegal to call businesses. But it can be tough getting past the scary receptionist.

So instead of instead of a fumbling 'can I speak with your marketing manager' (guaranteed you will be given the short shrift!), get a list with a name - for example, a CEO or Marketing Manager or Human Resources Manager) . That will usually get you past the gatekeeper.

Then ask the person if you can send your brochure OR ask for their email address, and follow up with a call in a few days or a week.

Email & Direct Mail Marketing to Consumers
How's this for a great idea...send an email to consumers telling them to 'look out for a special offer in your mailbox'. Then send out your letter or mail pack. You can even send a follow up email campaign to remind them abourt your offer.

We have access to a few great email and postal databases where we can do this for you!

Email Marketing - Building Your Own Database
Australia's tough anti-spam laws make it almost impossible to send cold emails to business. There are a couple of lists around that you can rent and use that are not opt-in, but as businesses tend to have spam filtering software, cold email campaigns tend to have a very poor response rate...plus you don't want your company to be seen as a grubby spammer!

But if you want to target CEO's and CFO's, sometimes you are much better using personalised snail mail or a phone call.

Consumers are a little easier to cold market to via email. There are plenty of good member databases that we can help you with where you can run a campaign to push people through to your website. The good thing is, emails are sent co-branded with the list owner. This means your email is more likely to get through a spam filter, and you get some cred from the list owner.

Sending an email to a 'house list' (your own list) always gets a much better response rate because the recipients know you. ...it's one of the cheapest forms of marketing and so easy to do! Simply ask for their permission to send emails to them. That's it. You can send a letter, get your receptionist to ask callers, put a sign on your counter, run a promotion, or get a telemarketer to call your customers to ask if they'd like to receive an email newsletter from your company.

When you send out an email, always identify who you are, personalise it, and put an opt-out at the end. A simple "reply with the word REMOVE to opt-out" should suffice.

All the above applies to SMS campaigns too.
